BasisTrail is built and supported by one developer, so support goes straight to a person rather than a queue. Email is the fastest route, and there is no phone tree behind it.
Try the app without an account
On the sign-in screen, tap Explore with sample data, then Open sample portfolio. That loads a demo portfolio on your device with every screen unlocked, including the AI brief and chat. Nothing is connected, nothing is uploaded, and no account is created. It is the fastest way to see whether BasisTrail suits how you track your money.
Connecting your own accounts
BasisTrail is read-only in both directions it can connect:
- Interactive Brokers uses a Flex Web Service token that you generate yourself in Client Portal. It grants read access to activity reports and nothing else. BasisTrail never sees your IBKR username or password and cannot place a trade.
- Crypto wallets are added as public addresses. A public address cannot authorise a transfer, so there is no key to hand over and nothing to sign.

Common questions
My numbers look wrong
Open the transaction in the ledger and check whether it is flagged for review. BasisTrail flags events it cannot classify with confidence, such as unusual contract activity or transfers with no matching cost basis, instead of quietly folding a guess into your total. If a flagged item is wrong, email it to us with the date and asset and it will be looked at directly.
A sync is stale
Pull to refresh on the dashboard. IBKR Flex reports are generated on Interactive Brokers' schedule, so a report can lag the market by design. The Sources section on the dashboard shows the last successful sync for each connection.
Where do I manage my plan?
Billing is handled on this website, in your account, not inside the app. Paid plans are not open yet while BasisTrail is in App Store review. Anyone who joins the waitlist before launch keeps 30% off their first three months.
How do I delete my account and data?
Sign in on this site, open your account, and use the delete option. Deletion removes your profile, entitlements, and synced portfolio data. See the privacy policy for what is retained and for how long.
Reporting a security issue
Email hello@basistrail.app with the details and please give us a reasonable window to fix it before publishing. Credentials are never shared with the AI layer, and reports about that boundary are especially welcome.
